Description of DHT11 Temperature and Humidity Sensor –
The DHT11 is a commonly used Digital Temperature and humidity sensor. The sensor comes with a dedicated NTC to measure temperature and an 8-bit microcontroller to output the values of temperature and humidity as serial data. The sensor is also factory calibrated and hence easy to interface with other microcontrollers.
This Sensor Module is a basic, low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor. It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor to measure the surrounding air and outputs a digital signal on the data pin (no analog input pins needed). Its very simple to use, and libraries and sample codes are available for Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
This DHT11 Humidity & Temperature Sensor Module makes is easy to connect to an Arduino or microcontroller as it includes the pull-up resistor required to use the sensor. Only three connections are required to be made to use the sensor – Vcc, Gnd, and Output. We have also included the cables required to connect the DHT11 to a microcontroller.

The sensor can measure temperature from 0°C to 50°C and humidity from 20% to 90% with an accuracy of ±1°C and ±1%. So if you are looking to measure in this range then this sensor might be the right choice for you.

How accurate is a DHT11?
Its temperature measuring range is from -40 to +125 degrees Celsius with +-0.5 degrees accuracy, while the DHT11 temperature range is from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius with +-2 degrees accuracy.
